If you are in a loving and supportive marriage and want to help new couples prepare for theirs, you can become a FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication Understanding and Study) couple, and/or assist with the Marriage Preparation Weekends.
FOCCUS couples meet twice with an engaged couple, first to administer the Pre-Marriage Inventory, and then to discuss the results. These meetings are intended to help the engaged couple learn to talk about sometimes difficult topics, such as money or children, to prepare them for a successful union.
The Marriage Preperation Weekend Couples join the team that conducts the weekend marriage preparation sessions.
Jobs include Hospitality- food prep, set-up, clean up, OR Presentations- giving talks on communication in your married life, permanence, or family planning.one to two weekends per year.
Friday begins with 6 pm dinner and presentation till 8:30.
