We, the people of St. James the Greater Parish in Eau Claire, are a community of Catholic Believers. We nurture our relationship with God and others through prayer, worship, scripture, evangelization and education. We are committed to spiritual growth, service and stewardship. We embrace the diversity of gifts and needs of all people.

Welcome New Members

New members to the St James Parish are always welcome. For information about joining, please contact the parish office (715) 835-5887 to set up an appointment with Christine Warloski.

Our History

The first Mass at St. James was celebrated November 11, 1948 in the little white house on the corner of 11th and Marshall Streets. Almost immediately the school was built in 1950. Then the office and rectory were constructed in 1955, followed by the Church in 1960. The Knights of Columbus built and gave the multi-purpose building to the parish in 1992. With Bishop Burke we celebrated our Golden Jubilee on the feast of St. James, July 25, 1999. Bishop Jerome Listeki came to dedicate the new Gathering Space and elevator addition on July 24, 2006. Moving?

If you are, or have had, a change in address, please contact the parish office. This saves us a lot of time and money when we don’t have to pay for returned postage. Also if there are other changes to your family situation like a new baby, a phone number, or email address, please contact us so that we can keep our parish census up to date. Your cooperation is appreciated.
